Flash! Ah ah!

As much as I love that version of A Christmas Carol, my favorite Christmas movie is still Miracle on 34th Street, the Edmund Gwynne/Natalie Wood version.

Ooh, a Christmas thread code-named Flash Gordon!

Lessee... top five would be: Scrooged, Home Alone 1 and 2, Die Hard, & A Christmas Story. :present:

Top five, eh?

Well, I already said Scrooged is my favorite. After that would be Jingle All the Way. It's just so off the wall goofy and stupid that it's great. Arnold Schwarzenegger vs. Sinbad playing a postal worker over an action figure, with one of the last appearances of Phil Hartman, R.I.P.

Top three for me:

A Christmas Carol
Christmas Vacation
White Christmas

If you include TV specials, A Charlie Brown Christmas and How The Grinch Stole Christmas would make it five.

Hm, top 5...

1. How the Grinch Stole Christmas (original animated short film)
2. Gremlins
3. A Nightmare Before Christmas
IV. Scrooged
5. Krampus

1. A Christmas Carol (George C. Scott version)
2. It's A Wonderful Life

I actually legitimately don't know after that. I do like the season 3 Buffy Episode "Amends", which is the closest thing to a Christmas episode the show ever had.

There's several movies that aren't "Christmas movies" per se, but I always watch this time of year because I associate them with the holidays for one reason or another

This includes Terry Gillian's Brazil, the 1946 version of Great Expectations, The Secret of NIMH, probably others I can't think of at the moment

I'll use my holiday vacation to watch the entire Peter Jackson Tolkien Saga, all three Hobbit films and all three Lord of the Rings films, extended editions. That's an annual tradition for me.

Die Hard all the way. Christmas Vacation a close second.

When I was a kid, down here, they played E.T. Which of course is pretty much cute alien Jesus

You could do an entire Shane Black marathon out of the movies he has set at Christmas.

For me

The Shop Around the Corner
A Christmas Story
Christmas Vacation
A Christmas Carol (Alastair Sim)
Christmas in Conneticut (Barabra Stanwyck is a babe for the ages)

I would probably include A Wonderful Life if it hadn’t been killed by overwatching.

My favorite Christmas movie is Muppet's Christmas Carol. Gonzo as Charles Dickens with Rizzo the Rat giving color commentary is pure awesome for me.

Savage Flash looks fun. I would have pledged if I wasn't working on my own space opera game.

I gotta say I'm stunned there hasn't been a Flash Gordon reboot.

PS: I love this forum.

There was a really really bad TV show reboot done by Sci Fi in 2007, that seemed to be an attempt to combine Smallville teen drama with Hercules: The Legendary Journeys adventure/humour. It was ...painful.

Black Christmas
Krampus
Silent Night, Deadly Night
A Christmas Story
The Shop Around The Corner (Voros reminded me of how much a favorite it is)... I avoid the Judy Garland remake.
