    Pendragon, Glory and Infamy

I suppose if I really need it I can just track Glory gained from Doing Fell Deeds separately from Total Glory with a chart for how this affects reactions, but I had been sure of something from the texts themselves. Oh well!

    Pendragon, Glory and Infamy

Pretty sure, I never had a Dragon subscription and I definitely recall reading it in a Pendragon supplement.

    Pendragon, Glory and Infamy

Anybody who's familiar with Pendragon, do any of you recall a supplement, in any edition, where it was possible to accrue Infamy for negative behavior as well as Glory? I seem to recall it being in the 3rd edition books I used to have, but they are not present in the PDFs and I'm not sure if I...

What are y'all up to these days?

My Pendragon campaign is up to the Battle of Netley Marsh, and because of actions the players have taken, Mark of Cornwall has joined King Nanteleod in his war against the Saxons instead of allying with the Saxons. Mark, being Mark, immediately took an opportunity to turn on Nanteleod and...

Dammit Victor's Bad RPG Campaign Ideas

Vampire street racers using blood-fueled cars, but I haven't found any games with the race mechanics I want.

Technology and horror "creators" refusing to react to it.

I agree but you really have to pace this a great deal in a Games environment, because a lot of complaints about tech in horror come from the assumption that the characters/NPCs are at least as competent as the people making the suggestion, and having them behave otherwise can seem like an affront.

Tell us about something good that you got recently

I picked up the I Am The Weapon draft from Zak S. So far my gaming Discord has been having a lot of fun making random character builds with the system as-written (it badly needs some organization but since it's a .doc draft I do not mind). The tag system for powers does a solid job of making...

    DMing is Not Storytelling

There is live communication between the characters online. It's just still in written prose, usually in paragraph format. Think like old AOL RP chatrooms or other such horrors. You're right about the difference in red flags, though. Player anonymity is easier, and so is over-identification with...

    DMing is Not Storytelling

It can be a thing and often leads to a lot of bad behavior in my circles, yes. First-person perspective is often a red flag in this regard. It's not the only reason players use third-person. Some people just prefer a more literary approach but don't want to describe their character's internal...

    DMing is Not Storytelling

Medium is also an element. All of my games are in third-person perspective written prose. First-person perspective leads to suspicion of too much self-identification with the PC.

    Is the WoD Urban Fantasy?

I think I have the right group to run it as gothic horror now but I would be stretching myself real thin. Still, the appeal is there.

What is the most superficial reason you have rejected a RPG for?

I have the Sentinel Comics corebook on my desk right now and I can't get past the intro because they use comic panel tutorials of the group playing the game and they look unbearably smug.

    Is the WoD Urban Fantasy?

It helps to think of these in literary waves. The early and original form was a fad genre built around crumbling old castles with dark secrets from the medieval period. This was the worst and most barbaric period before the Enlightenment fixed everything so it had to be that.* There was usually...

New and fresh Or Old and familiar?

I have a lot of systems that I have wanted to run but haven't been able to because I couldn't get an interested group together. Therefore, the system is both familiar (because I have read it over many times) and new (because I haven't actually put it into practice anywhere).

    Bluebeard's Bride?

More like Everyone Is John, but poignant. In theory.
