All fair points, but in the spirit of overthinking the gag-puzzle, does killing the third person end their claim to their share of apple or does the claim pass on the their next of kin?
I think this has been suggested in the pages of the Fantastic Four, that is to say the comsic rays affected each member of the F4 differently based on some subconcious impluses. That said the origin of the F4 has been revisited, re-interpreted and reimagined endless times in the last 60 years...
