I've been visiting here on a regular basis since the recent outage. So that's an uptick of one, at least.
I joined The Pub in 2017, but I don't visit here that often. Not sure why. I've occasionally thought about switching, but there's posters on The Site that I'd miss. There's a lot of noise...
I can't decide if I want the 5E version or the TOR version.
AIME: I have a lot of the AIME books (due to a PDF bundle.) I was impressed with the 5E adaptation. But I don't want to upgrade to the new 5E version.
TOR: I prefer the blue "door" cover art on the TOR version much better than the 5E...
It is easier due to the lack of PRCs, 3PP, thousands of rule supplements. etc. Here's a quick breakdown off the top of my head:
Good
Ability scores are modifiers only (-5 to +5, not 1 to 20)
Only three classes (Adept, Expert, Warrior)
Multi-classing is easy
No dead levels (you get 1 feat every...
Hi TristamEvans,
I haven't visited the Pub in some time, so imagine my surprise seeing this necro! Here are the coup de grace rules from 3.5. You can find them at:

I just bought a two gravity-feed boxes of Marvel Dicemasters:

The cards are very curved. So warped that they won't forma stackable deck. Is there a way to flatten them out?
PolarBlues,
I love Cyberblues City. I haven't had a chance to play it yet, but I read it every now and then and marvel at the design. I especially like the setting, which is far more unique than most cyberpunk offerings. Also, the innovative design choices, such as the character classes and...
I bought these a long time ago. All of them are "Enhanced Editions/" Never played them. Which one should I play first?
Baldur's Gate
Baldur's Gate II
Icewind Dale
Neverwinter Nights
I'm considering purchasing Dungeon of the Mad Mage, but I'd probably won't run it with 5E. Which made me wonder how it compared to the previous versions of the same subject matter. At least I assume these have the same subject matter.
For 4th Edition, there's Halls of Undermountain, but at 96...
I'd make the end destination a secret chapel in Europe, instead of the New World. Or maybe one of the Cathar castles. The campaign would be a race to get the Grail to it's sanctuary, with multiple enemies always one step behind you.
Thanks for the info. I was hoping to snag some ideas for my Storyteller hack, but it's gone in the wrong direction for me.
One last question: I think I heard that one success is an "almost success?" Probably since It's really easy to get one success at TN 7.
I was looking over Adventure and was just thinking of this.
What are the atts?
Is the default difficulty always 7?
What do 10's do?
What do 1's do?
Does combat still use the old 3 stages (init, attack, damage)?
Star Trek : Alpha Quadrant is amazing, but it would be even better if it used the classic traveller prior history. Rolling for promotions and mishaps every turn is definitely Trekish. I would break it down into name of ship you served on, captain, type of mission, roll for skills, roll for...
D20 Modern.
Is it bad? I'll leave that decision up to you. But there were no shortage of criticisms back in the day:
The ability score classes are awful!
The wealth system sucks!
The gun combat feats suck!
You don't get enough action points!
Not enough talents!
Unarmed damage sucks (actually...
Looking Star Trek CCG cards (Decipher, 1994 onward) Black-border only. if you have a collection gathering dust that you'd like to sell, send me a message.
We are running a donation drive this month to help offset the costs of running the Pub and to avoid running intrusive ads in the future. If you would like to help out please visit this thread for more details. Thank you!
