I like though modifiers become less important with "level", I kind of find that intuitive.
That is the more likely base you are to succeed the less modifiers matter. The bell curve does that as you go a +1 step out on the distribution. I like that the sweet spot for a modifier is at the...
Same. So the setting provided with the system never really mattered to me. I got my own setting and setting ideas thank you very much :)
Yet to answer the question, if I was locked into the setting provided, would say pretty much every setting provided in any detail for an RPG (that isn't...
As to the OP I call that issue with number of steps, rolls, you have to play with dynamic range. It's not just the steps you want but the modifiers you apply to rolls, how modifiers stack, etc. that can impact the usability of that dymanic range.
2D6 works great when dynamic range is not...
I did end up getting restructured out, thank god, as the new team line-up would have increased my work load even further, already doing the work done by 4 (counting me) when started. I do wish them well as own a fair amount of stock. :)
Transitioning over the next couple of months, and have...
My first job, where got actually paid, was paperboy. Everything before that were just chores, a fair number of chores after come to think of it.
Now the first job I had where got a check and everything was above board, supposedly, was setting up a warehouse (building shelves) then unloading...
1. What is your name?
2. What is your quest?
3. What is your favorite color?
More seriously though I use simply, choose your origin (from basically anything in the setting...or we can even talk about other stuff, just don't be an ass) and your relationship to it: (1) operative, (2) respected...
I made such a system compatible with Atomic Highway for that, and like Atomic Highway smooth.... :)
(will have to check out Maximum Apocalypse though; why I love these threads)
Environments and tactical options under combat.
On the former, set up the environment where good cover or a good position for attack advantage (e.g. a flank) needs to be moved to, or even created (get on the forklift and knock over those shipping containers). Then it becomes a matter of player...
I'd say this on The Marvels, I saw next to zero pre-release marketing on this versus compared to all the other Phase 5 movies which couldn't avoid. Not alone in this. Didn't even know The Marvels was out until heard how it disappointed at the box office. Would have seen it, and certainly...
I'm convinced that wearing a suit and tie leads to stupid business decisions...I think it must be the tie cuts off oxygen to the brain :)
Could be a lot of "valid" reasons for this though; successful but not enough to recoup costs or make enough profit, maybe any license increased, the game...
I heard the same. Maybe it's true and they can keep it up. If they are doing that and smart will announce in the summer and release before Thanksgiving break in the US.
I think that is the disconnect. D&D was played by millions, was in the minds of millions, has a huge nostalgic component of a certain time for millions, but it is not in the hearts of millions. The "worlds" D&D created have a much smaller number who have it in their hearts. They were fine as...
We are running a donation drive this month to help offset the costs of running the Pub and to avoid running intrusive ads in the future. If you would like to help out please visit this thread for more details. Thank you!
