Does anyone know Space Empires 4x?

I'm going to buy this, but I wonder what people think about it. As far as it goes, it's one of my favorite genres (science fiction strategy), and apparently it plays fairly quickly.

I'll get the expansion soon as well.

Three things appeal to me: Genre (as I said one of my favorite genres), ease/speed of play, and solitaire suitability.

Know this is an old question but I have Space Empires, it's a fun game, plays in about an hour and a half, has fun nods to Star Wars and especially Star Trek in it.

I just pre-ordered the second expansion, Replicators.

I'd love to hear about how the second expansion plays, as well as the first.

As a side point for those who love this genre, Space Empires is to me Stellar Conquest streamlined and done well. Stellar Conquest is still pretty great, just a bit more paper work and pre-plotted movement.

I haven't gotten around to playing SE4X yet, sadly. I've been trying to but things have been constantly busy. I should just go ahead and try the solitaire scenarios, which means I can at least work off my own schedule and not someone else's.
