I'll allow it, but only if people are sensitive to the fact that we may or may not have Bigfoot posting here. Can we get a ruling on the Bigfoot issue?
So is he posting here as a spirit, or a relic hominid?I'll allow it, but only if people are sensitive to the fact that we may or may not have Bigfoot posting here.
And is it true that powdered bigfoot foot will give you an erection that lasts for days and smells like cornchips? So is he posting here as a spirit, or a relic hominid?
Answering either way will start a war. It’s that nuts with the Bigfoot community.
Wooo!
As a former resident of Bigfoot country I can confirm that both are partially true. Powdered Bigfoot will give you an erection, but if it lasts for more than 8 hours you should see a doctor. You're erection will smell like corn chips but only if you get the powder wet. Again, if it smells like corn chips for more than 8 hours you should see your doctor as you might be turning into a Bigfoot. And is it true that powdered bigfoot foot will give you an erection that lasts for days and smells like cornchips?
Can we get a ruling on the Bigfoot issue?
Do you still have me on ignore? Not a response to the previous post; just something it made me think of.
From a technical POV, the ignore poster feature doesn't work great when the ignored poster is quoted: it still shows you who the ignored poster was, and it's not hard to deduce the content of their post from the response. Also, if someone breaks up the quote of the ignored poster, the later parts show up, un-ignored. I'm not sure if any of that is fixable with the current forum software, but maybe something to peek at.
Also, there should be more threads about how to define narrativist vs. traditional games. ;)
Yes. Yes I do.Do you still have me on ignore?
I'm guessing it is a bandwidth saving thing. Can you hover over them and enlarge them by clicking on them? Here is a possible improvement: I'm almost always logged in and don't normally notice this, but whenever I hop on from a browser or PC where I'm not logged in, I notice that images in posts are shown is some kind of small preview version of the image. There are cases where the image shrinkage kind of renders the post... irrelevant? Like, in the current 2023 Character Creation Challenge thread I've posted some character sheets that are readable for folks who are signed in, but too tiny and not readable to non-registered visitors. I'm not sure if this is to save bandwidth due to site crawlers, it's just a default forum feature no one thought to change, or a scheme to lure all the thirsty RPers to register for this very fine fourm.
If you are not logged in and see that there is a smaller image in a post and you click on the image hoping to see a larger version, the site redirects you to a log in page with a notice of "You must be logged-in to do that." As far as I can tell, unless you register for the forum and log in, there is no way for you to see the normal sized version of the images logged in users see.I'm guessing it is a bandwidth saving thing. I'm guessing that let's bots crawl and do minimum bandwidth but an actual user would click and see the full image.
Interesting. Do you know if when you posted the image you opted to show full size or kept the default of thumbnail? If you are not logged in and see that there is a smaller image in a post and you click on the image hoping to see a larger version, the site redirects you to a log in page with a notice of "You must be logged-in to do that." I get that same thing, FWIW.If you are not logged in and see that there is a smaller image in a post and you click on the image hoping to see a larger version, the site redirects you to a log in page with a notice of "You must be logged-in to do that." As far as I can tell, unless you register for the forum and log in, there is no way for you to see the normal sized version of the images logged in users see.
Hmm, I don't know if I know this for sure. If you happen to have a browser you don't use/haven't logged in with you can paste URLs into (Edge or whatever) it's pretty easy to see the effect though. For example, you'll see images are small in the "Great Comic Book Covers" thread and in the "2023 Character Creation Challenge" threads. Interestingly, in "The Cosplay Thread ("She Looks Very Healthy" Warning)", the posts from Tristram seem more normal sized, but everyone else's images are in the shrunken preview form.Interesting. Do you know if when you posted the image you opted to show full size or kept the default of thumbnail?
I noticed the pinned welcome to the Pub thread should update The Mod Formerly Known As Black Leaf's name. Unless that was a temporary thing?
I swear, this is becoming more and more relevant each day.A minor suggestion. Some other forums have an 'Ignore Thread' option that eliminates a thread from popping up in the WhatIsNew and in the subforum list. I don't know if this is a switch that can be activated, or requires some coding.
On those other fora it allows me to filter topics that don't interest me at all, or are just the same people constantly circle-jerking or sniping at each other, without putting a dozen members on Ignore.
So jokes aside, I'm actually not sure where I mean more. I can and have done moderation stuff, but at the same time, not being a moderator allows me to fuck about quite a bit. Decision decisions. (Not that it's my decision...)
This is my top part of a Google.Hi, not sure if this has been brought up already, but when searching for this site in Google or Bing, we see the following "highlights" under the result:

Nothing against anyone's profile posts, but is that what you want to promote in search engine results? Is there a way to specify other things to show up here? Perhaps just thread sections (as per the right-side column seen above)?
You mean as in a reaction somewhere between laughter and a desire to slap someone? Sounds good. Can we add that to the Like button? Congrats, Fenris-77 , you got a lot more popular!
